Praying Together

"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Proverb 27:17 NIV

I am so thankful for my men's prayer group. Today the 4 of us shared & prayed for each other for 3 hours. We laughed, we cried, drank home brewed coffee & prayed for each other.

We share everything, have no secrets, completely leaving our masks at the door. We share our struggles, our stupid mess ups with everyone (wives, children, others we work with & ourselves.) We patiently listen to each other, pray for each other & encourage each other. We do not preach at or for each other, but encourage us to keep running the race, of life God has for us.

We focus on the man God has called us to be & the changes He tells us we need to make to reflect His goodness & our humility. Even when our lives are super challenging & life is hard we still are able to make time for each other. When a crisis comes we are the 1st to call each other to pray or to come over to be an encouragement.

We shout out loud & give high 5's when we have experienced positive change, victory in a part of our lives that has been a struggle (for days or even years) & when we realize that we are not alone in life.

We started 3 years ago. We come from different countries, different church cultures, different mission organizations, are different ages & have lived in many different countries over the years. Guys have come & gone, but this is still the same, when we enter our time together we leave our pride at the door & enter as humble, broken men seeking God. We know that God uses us to change us to be the men, leaders, husbands & fathers He wants us to be.
