The difficulty of not being there

Great grammy past away at 6am our time today. 2 years ago when we were visiting with her we had so much fun. But, always when we would leave the thoughts would come that when we were overseas she may pass on.

I have realized that you can prepare yourself as best you can for family passing on, but when it does happen the sadness is deep. Being so far away, not being there, not able to morn with your family, not being able to go to the funeral & not being able to celebrate their lives together.

So many prophets in the Old Testament were taken, or had to leave their families as God lead them into His plan. I am sure that they mourned the loss of time with family or not being there when they passed on.

Life is very short so we need to enjoy the time we have together because all of us especially our loved ones will pass on. (Ecc 3:1-2)
