2 weeks

These last few weeks have gone by so quickly. All of us, especially the kids have said that it's hard to believe that we have been in Thailand almost 1 full year already. The end of july will be the end of our 1st year in Thailand.

Both our kids were chosen to have their artwork displayed in an art gallery here in Chiang Mai. It's exciting for them. Our son just finished playing for his school's U12 futsel team & they finished the year in 2nd place. All of the games were so close.

Things are busy here:

We have another guest with us for the next couple of weeks, one of our son's friends from school. His parents are in the US and needed a place to stay.

I am still studying Thai language full-time & meeting with local Thai's to build relationship with them.

Teresa is meeting with women weekly for prayer & encouragement. She also has become part of a worship team here.

We had our pastor's family, from our Thai church over for a meal to get to know them more & for them to know us more.

I was a chaperone for our son's school grade 6 retreat. It was an awesome time to get to know all of the kids, his teachers & the other parent chaperones. The teaching on their retreat was excellent. The topics were insecurity, identity in Christ, serving others vs. self, real relationship & encouraging others. God used the teaching to teach me more & I was challenged as well as the kids.

I have been meeting with missionary men, both younger & older for prayer & encouragement. This is something of great need here. Many men feel they don't have someone to listen, encourage & be accountable to in life.
